Exquisite Corpse Adventure The Exquisite Corpse Adventure
Candlewick Press

Book available from IndieBound.org or Barnes & Noble.

FROM THE AUTHOR
This is not just a story... It is a progressive story game called an “exquisite corpse” that has been played for centuries by families, storytellers, and artists—a spontaneous adventure created on the fly in words and in pictures, each storyteller’s episode picking up the story from the impossible cliffhanger left by the writer before them. This caper was created by a crew of children’s authors and illustrators; we were pulled together by the NCBLA to devise a biweekly story to be posted on the Library of Congress website Read.gov.

Here's the webcast of some of the authors reading excerpts from the book!
Praise for The Exquisite Corpse Adventure:
This villainous murder mystery takes place on a train as twins Joe and Nancy try to rescue their parents while encountering a cast of characters that includes a talking pig, mad scientists, explosions and shape-shifters. The most amazing part of this fun mystery is how it got created.
Our White House Our White House: Looking In, Looking Out
Candlewick Press
FROM THE AUTHOR
Primary sources, fantasy, narratives, essays and artwork all come together to bring children closer to “our house” and its place in history. This is another NCBLA collaborative publication, like The Exquisite Corpse, designed to support democracy through literacy. It is gorgeous, informative, entertaining. My piece is a fictional letter from a British soldier describing the burning of the White House in 1814.
The book’s website has exhaustive resources and is one of the ALA’s Great Web Sites for Kids.
Book available from IndieBound.org or Barnes & Noble.

Candlewick Press
FROM THE AUTHOR
Amy Ehrlich put together these award-winning collections of stories by children’s authors, set in the “time and space” in which they grew up. Mine is titled “Muffin,” and is set, like Dawn of Fear, in the wartime England of my childhood.
Book available from IndieBound.org or Barnes & Noble.

Praise for When I Was Your Age:
“Some of the entries in this memorable anthology are hauntingly sad and several are sharply witty; every single one is expertly crafted and engrossing.”
